ATP-Supported Constitution Project Issues Call for Judges

Alexandria Tea Party is promoting the 'We the People' school Constitution program this year.

The program put out a call for judges for the Virginia and D.C. school competitions:

Happy Constitution Day!

Constitution Day is a time for us to continue James Madison's legacy and develop good habits of citizenship in young Americans. Volunteering for We the People is the perfect way for you to help influence youth who will ultimately help shape America's future as a constitutional democracy.
Each year, We the People brings together middle and high school teams from around the state. Students demonstrate their understanding of constitutional principles and have opportunities to evaluate, take positions and ultimately defend those positions on relevant historical and contemporary issues during a simulated congressional hearing. It's such an inspiration to see middle and high school students so excited to learn about and wrestle with Constitutional issues!

Regional competitions in Roanoke, Purcellville, Glen Allen and Virginia Beach precede the state final, which determines the team that will represent Virginia at the national competition in Washington, D.C. (Last year Virginia took 2nd and 3rd at Nationals!) You'll find the details of each competition below. Note that overnight accommodations are provided for volunteers at the State Finals in Williamsburg.
I invite you to check your calendar and see if you are able to join us as a volunteer judge, timer, or facilitator at one of this year's competitions!

Should you have any questions, please contact me at evoss@montpelier.org.

Thank you so much for your continued support of this great program!

Sincerely,
Emily Voss
Virginia and Washington, D.C. We the People Coordinator

Tea Party Patriots Yellow Card Project
   - 'Turn Every Candidate Into a Tea Party Candidate'

Tea Party Patriots, led by Jenny Beth Martin, has embarked on a project to get candidates on the record as supporting our issues. The cards - which have questions on the front and our preferred answers on the back - are readily identifiable in a townhall meeting and meant to show a strong Tea Party presence and support for our issues.   The issues - ranging from repealing Obamacare to defeating Common Core - all poll very well for us with the American people. The project was originally started with the GOP presidential candidates in mind, but has since been expanded to all candidates for federal office. Thus, you can ask your local candidates the questions, or use the information in discussions with family and friends. The project homepage has more information about the questions, cellphone apps, and a petition drive.

ATP Project Supplies Photos for Candidates

Russell Kaufmann, volunteering for the Alexandria Tea Party, delivered over 700 photographs license free to the Mount Vernon District Republican Committee Chair today for use by district candidates supporting Tea Party values. The photographs cover the Fairfax County district from Huntington Station, to Mason Neck; from Route 1, to the Potomac. Mr. Kaufmann's artistic style and eye for composition shows his pedigree as a third generation photographer.

This Alexandria Tea Party project will continue as requests for photographic services are received.

All proceeds to benefit Hogs for the Cause.
From Greg Carpenter -
Please check out www.mikechurch.com to get some background on Mike, he is the longest running talk show host on satellite radio now running over 12 years on the Patriot (conservative) Chanel. If your folks are not listening to Mike, then you are missing the most logical and philosophical decrypting of the DC leviathan on the air today.
Dr George is the author of, "My Story of America", and is a frequent speaker at tea party's and numerous other events. For this Bootcamp he will be doing his story and historical revival of Patrick Henry's speeches and their relevance to regaining control of our federal system.
I cover the far reaching effects of a communist agenda and what we need to do to reverse that trend and regain control of our Union.
The Crusader reference is a call to action, we are not looking to speak to people who will not effect change wherever they can. We reference our Judeo-Christian roots and the values associated with them, but this is not a religious event.

9/25 'All Issues are Women's Issues' (candidate Anna Urman)

Anna helped us with our school lunch activism project earlier this year. She is running for the Virginia House of Delegates as a Republican in the 43rd District. ATP does not endorse candidates but does support those who align with our core values - limited government, free markets, fiscal responsibility - as Anna does.

Anna's campaign website, with Donate and Volunteer buttons, is here -
