Rhetoric verses Reality - Tuesday's decision If you're familiar at all with my efforts, you know that I place 'opportunity', through jobs and education, at the very top of my public service priorities. I believe that unemployment, leading to despair and dependency on government, is the greatest domestic threat we face as a nation. That's why I'm such a defender of America's greatest job creators, its small businesses. It's also why I was so offended to hear the President declare "if you've got a business - you didn't build that", or Hillary Clinton warn "don't let anyone tell you that it's corporations or businesses that create jobs". Unfortunately, this is the message that resonates with their base. Few people argue that President Obama or Harry Reid are pro-business. In fact, they are proud to proclaim the opposite. So the question is, can Senator Mark Warner be pro-business when he attracts this same base while voting with Obama 97% of the time? Simple answer, no he cannot. In fact, as I speak to businesses around the state, it's clear that the greatest challenge to our economic growth is excessive regulation from Washington. Among the most harmful, the latest round of EPA mandates and Obamacare, both of which Mark Warner supports. It's clear; Sen. Warner's rhetoric and voting record do not match. I hope that you'll speak to your friends and family and bring them to the polls to elect Ed Gillespie. He will stand up for Virginia's small businesses. While you have them, encourage each to support Rob Wittman or Scott Rigell for Congress so that they can continue looking out for you, our Hampton Roads economy, and our brave men and women in uniform.
