A historic first vote for the FairTax! | FairTax Friday

A Historic First Vote For The FairTax

What a journey!

15 years ago, three Houston businessmen decided something had to be done about America’s inequitable tax code and the IRS’ abusive system of enforcement.

These men raised $20 million in private donations and invested it in scholarly research to determine what tax system would raise revenue for the government while being the most advantageous for the people and our economy.

Extensive focus groups followed and what emerged was a bold new tax plan – the FairTax®.

Since then, the FairTax Plan has emerged as the largest grassroots tax reform initiative in the nation. You and thousands and thousands of FairTax supporters like you have toiled in the trenches educating anyone and everyone you meet about the FairTax and why it is the best tax plan for jobs and economic growth.

You have aggressively worked to secure one co-sponsor after another (72 in the House and 9 in the Senate including sponsors) and you have generously donated time and time again.

And you have waited and waited for the Committee on Ways and Means  to give the FairTax serious consideration.

Then yesterday, HR 25 Sponsor, Congressman Rob Woodall (GA-7), shared that Ways and Means will, for the first time in history, be voting on HR 25, “The FairTax Act of 2013.” Read his letter here.

I join Congressman Woodall in extending my sincere congratulations to each and every one of you for your longstanding and tireless efforts, which are now bearing fruit.

We anticipate the tax reform debate and vote sometime within the next 45 days.  We don’t know, however, what impact the current budget battle/potential government shut down will have on the Committee’s work and schedule. We will keep you updated as we receive information from Congressman Woodall.

So please take a moment and celebrate your monumental achievement!

Then, we have much work to do and that work must begin NOW! You can begin by:

  • Distributing Congressman Woodall’s letter far and wide to all FairTax supporters.
  • Thanking those that have stood with you in supporting the FairTax Plan. Ask them for their continued support.
  • Making sure all co-sponsors receive a copy of Congressman Woodall’s letter.  Thank them for their co-sponsorship and ask them for their continued support when the Committee begins their tax reform deliberations. This is most impactful when it comes from constituents (volume is critical). A list of co-sponsors can be found here: FairTax.org/cosponsors
  • Initiating discussions of the FairTax with your local media (radio, TV, newspaper, journals etc.), especially those where you have a relationship. And, don’t forget college publications.
  • Get into the mix on local and national talk radio shows. Don’t forget to remind listeners of the latest IRS headlines e.g. Lois Lerner now trying to cut an immunity deal, the IRS' failure to report $67 million in costs the agency incurred for employees who were working on the healthcare law for fiscal 2010 through 2012 etc.
  • Engage online by sharing Facebook posts with your friends and re-tweeting on Twitter.

Finally, once the Committee schedules the tax reform debate and we have a better idea of when a FairTax vote will tax place, we want to ask for a roll call vote in addition to asking co-sponsors to support HR 25.

It is vital that we know who was willing to stand and be counted for the FairTax, so you can act accordingly when you receive requests for donations and election votes.

The Committee on Ways and Means has a major decision to make in the near future.

One decision will embody some form of the current corrupt income tax system that has led us to the brink of economic collapse.

The other will be a bold new plan that eliminates the IRS, abolishes the 16th Amendment, generates jobs, brings offshore manufacturing back onshore and most importantly, treats each and every American with dignity and respect.

It is an exciting time to be a FairTax supporter!

Until next week,

The MI FairTax Association Chair, Roger Buchholtz, sent us this great picture with this report:

Thanks to the efforts of Michigan FairTax Association President, Ron Babin, and the funding largely made available by the District Targeting Committee, we were able to post these two beautiful new full sized billboards in Michigan's 4th District, home of Ways & Means Committee Chairman, Representative Dave Camp.

These posters, constituent pressure and discussions with Camp by Michigan FairTax Association's leaders has insured Congressman Camp that, as the sign says, we all "Demand it!"

The FairTax Act In The Media

Federal Tax Code failures are sufficient grounds to support passage of HR:25The Gilmer Mirror

The unintended and intended failures in current Federal Tax Code are sufficient grounds to support passage of HR:25 The Fair Tax Bill!

Federal Government intervention has destroyed or driven many U.S. Based businesses and their related jobs to other Countries. The U.S. Congress has lost control of the IRS. The Constitution means nothing to many in the U.S. House and Senate. No Constitutionally required Federal Budget has been passed in years! Vote buying by those with the money to influence elections for personal gain and further prostitution of Our Representatives and Senators is rampant! The perversion of Federal Tax Code has destroyed the idea of Citizen representation and "equal" taxation originally instituted by the U.S. Constitution. Most of the current Congress continues to support an IRS strangle hold on every U.S. Citizens throat!

..The current failed Federal Income Tax must be pulled out by its corrupt roots and thrown on the trash heap of Failed Government ideologies. Our Representatives and Senators who fail to tell the truth concerning HR:25 must be replaced! Do not make the mistake of posting your vote in favor of a Republican or Democrat in up coming elections, both Parties are responsible for our current failed Federal Tax System. Both Parties promote division between Citizens. Please vote for Candidates who support and will demand passage of HR:25...

  1. I was a Faitax support too -- until I read the fine print

For some reason -- see if you can guess what it is - Fairtax spokesmen only told us about the retail sales tax part of Fairtax., Fred, above, does that too. Lots of great sounding stuff, but none of it factually true.

For example, there is Fred's claim -- he no doubt believes it -- of extensive research. I've offered 50,000 dollars for years now if anyone can show ONE PAGE of that research! That's right one page, one paragraph, one post it note. There is none. NADA. Not on a simple retail sales tax to replace virtually all other fed taxes.

Nor can they show any research. In the Fairtax Book, Neal Boortz made it seem like Dale Jorgenson of Harvard did the "extensive research" that proved all these great things . Trouble is CNN interviews Jorgenson not long after Fairtax Book came out. Nope, he did no such research!! And Jorgenson is against Fairtax or anything like it. Yet here the Fairtax Book made it seem directly opposite -- that Jorgenson, the "worlds leading authority" on sales taxes, agreed with Fairtax. No -- he does NOT agree, and he said Fairtax had it wrong.

Try to grasp this, the guy THEY claimed did the fundamental research, says he did not prove what Fairtax said and is not for it! That is not some other guy! That is their own supposed expert!

Yet guys like Fred go right along giving that same falsehood. Fred has no idea.

Fairtax not only lied about the "research" but lied to public about what they tax. Yes, they do tax retail sales, but they have massive other taxes that would drastically raise city county and state tax rates. In the fine print are taxes on capital investments, wage and pension expenditures by all city county state and federal gov.

For example, Dallas Texas city council would over 100 million in wage pension and capital investment taxes! They don't tell anyone that, its ONLY in clever fine print. Also Dallas would have to raise their tax rates "sufficiently" says Fairtax documents.

There are a lot of fine print tricks in Fairtax, not enough space here. Email me if you want this fraud exposed, I will show you the fine print email -- yahoo. Mybookwork
