Sure, that's a tough task with the information onslaught and rampant relativism we all face. Frankly, most health news suffers from the harried, unthinking news environment resulting from overload.
Secondly, the trend in news, including health and wellness news, has fallen for the lie that there is no truth. Without truth, there's nothing but a blur of a billion competing opinions.
One view says that the government is right about levels of vitamin C you need. A 100-milligram pill could be more than enough for a child, they insist. Another expert says a daily glass of orange juice suffices.
Meanwhile, vitamin makers put out tablets with 500 or a 1,000 milligrams. Are they just trying to make a buck by overdosing you? Yet, a famous scientist took 10,000 milligrams a day and lived to 93. Was he on the money or not?
