1. Snapshot: U.S. Uninsured Rate Edging Down in First Quarter - Gallup

The uninsured rate among U.S. adults is 12.3% for the first two months of 2015, down marginally from 12.9% in the fourth quarter of 2014. The open enrollment period for Americans to purchase a healthcare plan for 2015 through the Health Insurance Marketplace ended Feb. 15, but this deadline was extended to Feb. 22 -- and even longer for some applicants. Many states extended their enrollment deadlines even longer, and this report would not fully reflect those who obtained health insurance right before the deadline.

2. US jobs rise 295,000 in February, unemployment 5.5% - Financial Times

America's labour market has recorded gains above 200,000 for 12 consecutive months, the longest run in more than a decade and a bright spot as several business surveys indicated a leveling off in growth from the brisk pace seen in the third quarter.

3. Then there were 12: Nebraska ordered to end same-sex marriage ban - CNN

What a difference a couple of years makes. A federal judge has struck down Nebraska's ban on same-sex marriage, calling it an "unabashedly gender-specific infringement of the equal rights of its citizens." U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon's decision Monday means that same-sex marriage is now against the law in fewer than one in four states. Nebraska state officials immediately appealed the ruling to the 8th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Bataillon denied a state request to stay his decision. And so, beginning Monday the state must "treat same-sex couples the same as different sex couples" when it comes to marriage rights, the federal injunction reads. As the dominoes fall in favor of same-sex marriages, the question now seems to be which state will be the last?
