Friend -- When we launched OFA, we knew we had our work cut out for us. We knew that opponents were lined up to try to take us down -- to stop the progress we're fighting for. They probably even thought they would beat us. What people like you have proven all year long is that, when we each do our part, this grassroots movement can take on anyone. That's what makes fundraising deadlines so important. They're our chance to go on offense. We're facing a big deadline this Tuesday -- there are just a few days to become a 2013 founding member. Chip in $5 or more right now, before our critical fundraising deadline on December 31st. They can try to scare people away from getting health insurance. They can force a government shutdown when they don't get their way trying to derail Obamacare. They can be a roadblock on immigration reform, and fight tooth and nail against marriage equality everywhere they get the chance. They've done all of that, and more. But don't let anyone confuse that for actually winning these fights. Every day, thousands of Americans are signing up to get health coverage, many for the first time ever. The extreme lawmakers who caused the shutdown were shut down this month when they talked about doing it again -- and a long-term budget passed Congress. It's not a matter of if we'll pass immigration reform -- it's when. And on marriage equality ... eight more states made it the law of the land this year. That's progress that will never be taken away. That's the power of organizing. Without people like you, progress simply isn't possible. When 2014 starts in five days, I want to know we'll have the resources we need to keep this change coming. That depends on what you do today. Chip in $5 or more right now: https://donate.barackobama.com/December-31 Thanks, Jon Jon Carson Executive Director Organizing for Action ---------------- The other side will spend millions to maintain the status quo. We're fighting for change -- chip in $5 or more to support OFA today. | |
