Robert -- Remember when Obamacare was supposed to be repealed on day one of the new administration? And then, when that didn't happen, that they promised it'd be done "simultaneously" with Tom Price's confirmation as Secretary of Health and Human Services? There's a reason neither has happened: OFA supporters like you have decided not to stand by and watch them rip away our health care. People are showing up, literally and figuratively -- and the impact is being felt: Last week, while members of Congress were on recess and back in their home districts, OFA volunteers took the opportunity to voice their concerns. At town hall meetings across the country, we showed up. We spoke out. And when elected officials refused to hear directly from their own constituents, we filled the void -- OFA organizers gave community members the chance to make their voices heard by holding their own "empty chair" town halls to call foul on their absentee representatives. Local press was there, too. Then, over the weekend, OFA supporters teamed up with Our Revolution and other partners to put on more than 100 events across the country urging members of Congress to protect Obamacare. And on top of all that, OFA fellows, coaches, and trainers are focusing not just on the key fights happening now, but on building this movement for the long term. Just a couple weeks ago, 46 volunteer leaders from 24 states huddled together in Chicago to prepare to mentor more than 400 brand new organizers -- fellows and college students who've signed up for OFA's upcoming Community Engagement Fellowship and Campus Academy. Ernie (top) and Wannetta (bottom) were just two of the 46 volunteer leaders who came together in Chicago a couple weeks ago. These organizers will play a big role in keeping this movement going strong. At the end of the day, it's efforts like these that remind our elected officials they're responsible for what happens to our well-being -- and that we're paying attention to where they stand. And, perhaps most importantly, it's working. But work like this doesn't just happen by itself, it depends on the support of people like you to keep it going. This is a historic opportunity to prove the power still belongs with us as citizens. Help drive this movement forward -- invest in it today.
