All the efforts to protect Obamacare are adding up. Obamacare opponents are realizing that they're not going to get away with ripping health care away from tens of millions of people without a fight.
In just the past month, we've seen congressional leaders go from "full repeal on day one" to running scared out of town halls to escape angry constituents. They're even changing their rhetoric to try and appease Americans who are rightfully upset about the rug being pulled out from under some of our nation's most vulnerable.
That shift in attitude didn't happen by itself -- it happened because people like you spoke up about the chaos that repealing Obamacare would create. It happened because you shared your stories about the law, and you called your elected officials to let them know how you felt. Actions like these are a big part of the reason that some members of Congress are beginning to waver on the idea of repealing Obamacare. That's a big deal.
We can't let the momentum subside. We have an opportunity over the next week to magnify that impact.
Members of Congress are returning home on Friday for a week-long recess. Some will be holding town hall meetings, some will host listening sessions, and others may be attending public events in their communities.
To make sure you're receiving the correct information about events happening in your area, we want to verify your contact information. Take a second to confirm that what we have on record for you is correct.
Showing up to an event near you is crucial in keeping this fight going strong. It's hard enough for senators to try to ignore record-setting phone calls flooding their offices about the importance of Obamacare -- it's going to be really hard for them to ignore your voice and your story if you're right there in front of them.
It's up to all of us to keep putting the pressure on elected officials to do the right thing. Confirm your contact information now and we'll make sure you get the right details on upcoming events happening near you.
