Dear Friend - One of the most pressing issues facing Congress is how to proceed with repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act. As you know, the House and Senate recently passed, and the President signed, legislation that begins the repeal process. But there are still crucial questions that must be answered about the replacement. Proponents of repealing the ACA say that the law has failed to live up to its major promises and that premium increases and lack of access to care have hurt Virginians. Meanwhile, opponents of repeal point out that the law is working and that those who need insurance the most may lose it. My view is that American people deserve a patient-centered system that favors quality and choice, not a government-centered system. That why I have cosponsored H.R. 277, the American Health Care Reform Act of 2017, legislation which repeals the Affordable Care Act and replaces it with healthcare reforms that ensure everyone has access to quality, affordable health insurance and that individuals have more choices to find a healthcare plan that works for them and their families. But I want to know what you think. Please take a moment to respond to the short survey below. Once we collect responses, I will contact you to report the results and lay out my thoughts on this critical issue. Question: How should Congress proceed with repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act? * Just repeal; worry about a replacement later * Repeal but only if a replacement measure is in-place * Do not repeal the law * None of these/I don't know. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Your opinion helps shape my thinking as I represent you in Washington. Sincerely, Rob |

In the last couple of days there has been a remarkable amount of Twitter undercurrent of resistance from government agencies. This is heartening. When CIA operatives are leaking info and the DoD is dissing you through Twitter you are NOT much of a leader.
Viewers are dumping "Morning Joe"
MSNBC viewers have spoken loudly as Morning Joe’s ratings continue to slide. The conservative talker is now the lowest rated morning show on cable news.
One statistic from TVNewser tells the story of Morning Joe’s decline, “Last year, “Morning Joe” was ranked #28 of all cable news shows in the demo. This January it is #47, and in fourth place in the demo behind “Fox & Friends,” “New Day,” and ‘Morning Express.'” The numbers for Joe Scarborough’s show have fallen apart. “On weekday mornings, CNN’s New Day registered its highest ratings ever in January and posted its largest monthly share of the cable news morning audience since 2009. The program also easily beat MSNBC’s Morning Joe, topping Joe for four straight months in total viewers and seven consecutive months among A25-54. Fox and Friends posted its lowest delivery since 2001.”

Speaking of Joe Scarborough: How many members of Congress have ever had a young female intern found dead in their office . . . and never answered one question about it?
On the day Trump took office, Death Valley National Park was tweeting about internment camps

Trump has talked about rounding up and deporting "illegal aliens" along with "suspicious Muslims." DVNP reminds us we did that once.

President Donald Trump thinks that unfavorable media coverage of his first weekend in office has not allowed him to "enjoy" the White House, according to a Tuesday report by the Associated Press.
Trump believed that the media would cover him more favorably after he was inaugurated, according to an Associated Press report citing two anonymous sources close to the President, but instead believes it has worsened.
The President said that the negative press has not allowed him to "enjoy" the White House on his first weekend in office, according to an anonymous source who spoke with him also cited in the report.
Trump's administration faced a rocky weekend of media coverage on its first weekend in the White House.
Thousands of marchers attended protests on Saturday along the National Mall in Washington, D.C., as well as in hundreds of other cities across the United States and around the world, many carrying anti-Trump signs. And an official estimate from D.C. Metro authority showed that the transit system had its second-busiest day ever on the day of the Women's March on Washington, far surpassing its ridership on the day of Trump's inauguration.
