Fellow Members of the King George TEA Party:
This will be my penultimate (i.e., second to the last) KGTP Newsletter as I will relocate to the Tidewater area at the end of this month. When I accepted the Chairman position in 2014 from Rich Lorey -who started the KGTP in 2009- we were in the middle of the Obama administration. While the initial focus of the TEA Party at the time was to fight rising taxes, the movement's scope soon expanded due to Obama's injection of socialist policies (the icon being Obamacare) and tyrannical bureaucrats (the icons being Lois Lerner and John Koskinen). The monthly KGTP meetings were very well attended as everyone was energized.
The Trump years were -in the main- a breath of fresh air. Sure, the national debt continued to expand… but the tax cuts and (more important) reduction in government regulations restored the American economic engine. That, and Trump's overt patriotism and America First agenda was in stark contrast to Obama's lack thereof. What was great for the country, however, enabled many TEA Party folks to become comfortable with our country's restored direction and KGTP meeting attendance dwindled. We kept going.
Well, we are now in the first year of the Biden administration and the problems we saw under Obama have been dwarfed by a massive illegal alien invasion, inflation rates for our economy that we have not seen in decades, wide-scale destruction in major cities caused by the fascist ANTIFA and racist BLM activists, tyrannical vaccine and face mask mandates, treason perpetrated by our nation's highest-ranking military leaders, corruption perpetrated by the president's immediate family (i.e., Hunter Biden), and (absolutely most important) **evidence** of election fraud that absolutely had the capacity to change the outcome of the 2020 general election. If you haven't read the reports from the Maricopa county, Arizona audit report I strongly encourage you do so.
And yet, I am unable to find my replacement as KGTP Chairman.
My next KGTP Newsletter, which will come out after this Thursday's 7 October KGTP monthly meeting, will either announce my replacement to further advance the TEA Party's movement here in King George or it will announce the sun-setting of the KGTP. Without a Chairman the KGTP doesn't have a leader / organizer, someone with a key to the building and permission to host the monthly meetings in the American Legion's hall, or a correspondent to send out important information that keeps the organization informed and connected. Without a Chairman the KGTP will go dormant at a time when our nation, our commonwealth, our county, and our fellow citizens need our perspective, activism, and movement the most.
Thus, for the last time, I request that someone volunteer to take the KGTP's reins in the footsteps of our Founding Fathers as an active, participatory citizen-leader.
For me, I have promised my wife that I would take two months off from deciding what to do as a retiree and just plain enjoy some downtime. I have agreed to that… but in the back of my mind I am still wrestling with what venue I can, or should, continue to contribute to this nation. One idea is that I focus my attention on countering ideological subversion, i.e., the "active measures" that I referenced in last week's KGTP Newsletter, as I see that as being at the heart of America's current threat. Another idea is to write a series of books geared toward today's youth and try to impart a needed Conservative perspective for America's future generation. Another is to just fill my days building radio controlled airplanes, getting on the air with other amateur radio operators, tinkering in the workshop building stuff, or entertaining my grandkids. I will be busy… but "Busy doing what?" is my current question for myself.
I look forward to seeing everyone THIS Thursday for our monthly KGTP meeting. I really do.
