KGTP Newsletter - 18 May 2020

Fellow Members of the King George TEA Party:
.
I hope all are well.  Spring is here and Governor "Blackface" Northam has begun to reverse his unconstitutional introduction to Communism imposed upon We The People Of Virginia.  American resilience will prevail and our economy will soon be humming at pre-Totalitarian levels.

For me, this week has mainly featured a running e-mail discussion with some of the leadership in the Fredericksburg Virginia Patriots (FVaP).  By the time this past Saturday came around, however, the e-mail and text-message discussion transitioned (within 2 hours!) from their invitation for me to open up their General Meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, to my having to decline their offer, to my decision to not attend the meeting at all, to my abrupt termination of the discussion all together, and ultimately to my blocking them from my phone.  Such can happen when the dude you are trying to converse with openly boasts that "Confrontational Politics" by H. L. Richardson is his style guidebook for treating peer patriot/TEA Party leaders.

You may ask yourself, "What subject could have possibly been so important that it warranted such a deliberate and conclusive response?"  In a nutshell on one side we, the KGTP, had the opportunity on 6 February to personally meet with Daniel Gade (who is running to unseat Mark Warner as Virginia's US Senator) and we were unanimously impressed with the candidate (our assessment is reflected in the 10 February 2020 Newsletter).  On the other side, the FVaP supports Tom Speciale in that same race.  When it comes to assessing the candidates, the folks at iVoterGuide.com seem to be a good arbitrator and they have made a clear distinction between the two: Gade- Conservative / Speciale- Somewhat Conservative (see https://ivoterguide.com/All-in-State/virginia).   Additionally, the Virginia Constitutional Conservatives have a survey scorecard that clearly shows that Daniel Gade is definitely more conservative than Tom Speciale (available here: https://virginiaconservatives.net/2020-federal-candidate-survey).  I had previously assumed that patriot/TEA Party groups would overwhelmingly prefer the most conservative-leaning candidate for Senator (i.e., Daniel Gade) but that must not be the case for FVaP.

I encourage you to investigate Tom Speciale's suitability as Senator (https://thomasspeciale.com) mainly because I suspect you will find things that you DON'T want to see associated with your Virginia Senator.  For example, his 2019 autobiography, "Faith, Family and Fortitude: Seeing opportunities instead of obstacles" is described on Amazon by the following:

"This is a story of scars. Tom didn't write this book as a telling of how awesome he is. Nor is it a book about all the awesome stuff he did. This is a story of learning from mistakes, overcoming them and making better decisions. It's a story of a man's faith and family whom he credits with all his achievements. Unlike other stories, Tom pulls out all his skeletons. This is not the story of a man who made all the right choices and never made a mistake."

OK, so maybe he "comes clean" from having made mistakes in deliberate preparation for running for public office… and maybe he learned from those mistakes, too… but there are still present-day indications that one should remain concerned about Tom Speciale's trustworthiness -especially if running for US Senator.  As one example, Tom Speciale responded to the Virginia Constitutional Conservatives' candidate survey but refused to answer three of the survey's questions.  Why?  Would YOU trust a Senate candidate that REFUSED to answer pertinent questions to determine how they would represent We The People Of Virginia in Washington, DC?  Not me.  For insight, here are the three questions that Tom Speciale refused to answer:
#2) Will you support a bill that would fully repeal the War Powers Act, and require the President to obtain a Congressional Declaration of War as prescribed by the Constitution before committing American servicemen to combat?
#6) Will you pledge to vote against any Federal Budget that does not decrease spending?
#13) Will you support legislation to End the Federal Reserve and restore sound, market-based currency?

And finally with regards to Tom Speciale, I suspect that iVoterGuide's "somewhat conservative" assessment for Tom Speciale may have been driven by some of the Liberal/Liberal-lite language found on his website.  Sure, Tom Speciale is very vocal about Second Amendment rights… but there is much more to representing Virginians and defending our constitutional rights than that singular issue.  For example, from his website:
  • "… the law must provide a pathway to citizenship for those people our past political leaders encouraged to come here illegally."
  • "With regard to the epidemic of suicides… we need a nation response like we did with HIV. With regard to mental health we need to invest in programs that identify and provide assistance to people in a constructive way."
  • "To achieve this lofty goal we must first invigorate our education system through thoughtful integration of the Departments of Education and Labor and bring to bear the innovation and vision of NASA and private industry for the singular purpose of space exploration."
  • "The rich can just buy their way free of the brand. That was never the intent. We need to do something."

In contrast, I was able to find two organizational endorsements for Daniel Gade that are noteworthy and they "speak" to Gade's ability to represent We The People Of Virginia:

Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee
"CWALAC Endorses Daniel Gade for U.S. Senate for Virginia"

Combat Veterans for Congress
Gade Endorsement

But the following from Lexology really goes to the heart of what I believe to be Daniel Gade's conservative foundation.  Read for yourself this excerpt (there is much more at the link) and consider how Gade's world-view on this one issue – self-reliance – will favorably impact his decision-making as a US Senator.

Lexology
"President Trump nominates Iraq veteran Daniel Gade to EEOC Commissioner spot"

"Based on his writings and some articles about him, Dr. Gade appears to be a strong advocate for self-reliance and getting disabled veterans back to work."

The bottom line is that I was unwilling to compromise on our (the KGTP) previous assessment of Daniel Gade or diminish our full confidence in his capability and intent to best serve our Commonwealth and nation as a US Senator.  From that position, however, I knew that attending the FVaP's General Meeting would invite conflict – conflict that I felt unwarranted.  THAT is what drove me to ultimately reject the FVaP's invitation to attend their General Meeting.

And now for some relevant news from this past week...

TEA Party / Nationalism Movement

From the top article below:

"With a growing number of people taking the lead themselves, we see again a long history of North Carolinians who believe they will make decisions for themselves.   These citizens have made a collective decision that they cannot afford to wait it out at home – while it may not be the best decision – they seem prepared to accept the consequences dragging along many state bureaucrats and elected officials."

Taxes / Taxed Enough Already

From the top article below:

"Government-ordered lockdowns to prevent the spread of the virus have cratered the U.S. economy, decimating state tax revenue. April sales and income tax receipts in 24 states declined sharply, Fitch Ratings said in a report this week. New Jersey reported a 60% drop in April revenue on May 13."

Regulation

From the top article below:

"At the same time, all of us—the judiciary, the other branches of government, and our fellow citizens—must insist that every action our governments take complies with the Constitution, especially now. If we tolerate unconstitutional government orders during an emergency, whether out of expediency or fear, we abandon the Constitution at the moment we need it most. Any government that has made the grave decision to suspend the liberties of a free people during a health emergency should welcome the opportunity to demonstrate—both to its citizens and to the courts—that its chosen measures are absolutely necessary to combat a threat of overwhelming severity."

National Debt / Its the Spending, Stupid!

From the top article below:

"Democrats seem to take the position in the legislation that money is no object when it comes to spending trillions upon trillions of dollars under the cover of helping the American people deal with the coronavirus pandemic. In reality, Democrats are using the pandemic to justify their wish list of far-left Big Government schemes more extreme than anything ever enacted in American history."

Economy

From the top article below:

"As expected, because of government-mandated business closings, there was more bad news: A record 103,415,000 Americans, roughly one-third of the population, were counted as "not in the labor force" in April, a gain of 6,570,000 in just one month. The previous record high for this number, swelled in part by retiring baby boomers, was 96,845,000 in March. (The labor force is made up of the employed and the unemployed. The remainder, those who have no job and are not looking for one, are counted as not in the labor force.)"

Patriotism / America First

From the top article below:

"Call 2020 the continuation of the "Flight 93" election or the "Let's Roll" election or the "Liberty or Death" election, but however it is eventually remembered, it is clear to Trump supporters that the only way to survive the fire around us now is to gather together and storm right through it.  The Democrats are offering no quarter come November; they have flown the Jolly Roger high above their heads, and they mean to silence us however they must.  If there were any lingering hope that they would do otherwise, our current national incarceration has proved one more timely reminder that Democrats rule by fear and intimidation and have no interest in respecting our freedoms of speech, religion, or association, or our inherent right to protect and secure any of our basic civil liberties."

The 'Let's Roll' Election

First Amendment / Freedom of Speech / Freedom of Religion

From the top article below:

"The alliance, which has a long history of suing colleges, is not playing coy about the intent of the letters.  They give school administrators 'the opportunity to respect the constitutionally protected freedoms of their students without any costly litigation,' said Tyson Langhofer, director of the group's Center for Academic Freedom. Each letter concludes with an invitation to work with the alliance 'to reform [the institution's] policy and avoid litigation.'  Unspoken is the precarious financial situation of many colleges as the COVID-19 pandemic ravages their budgets, with students either uninterested in or blocked from returning to campus this fall and possibly longer. The last thing they need is a lawsuit that will surely end in a costly settlement."

Second Amendment / Right to Keep and Bear Arms

From the top article below:

"The order comes with limitations, however, that some gun shop owners still find burdensome: limiting their customers to four per hour and all must have an appointment. They are required to practice social distancing, wear masks, and stay six feet apart, according to the order handed down last Thursday.  This is in contrast to how other retailers like Walmart are allowed to operate and this makes the gun shop owners upset."

Fourth Amendment / Right to Privacy

From the top article below:

"If you think I'm exaggerating about being incarcerated against your will, check out what Cuomo did in New York before this pandemic even started. He gave himself the authority to incarcerate anyone with any infectious disease for as long as he deems necessary. Then he did it to at least two people in New York, one of whom never tested positive for coronavirus. The man refused to self-quarantine because he had a cold and ended up in the county jail without a hearing or a lawyer."

From the top article below:

"The California Attorney General first admitted that they are enforcing the video recording law solely based on how they feel about the message being published, and then further admitted they are not even trying to follow the text of the law as written. CMP's undercover reporting has been corroborated by the successful prosecution of fetal body parts sales we reported in southern California, multiple Congressional investigations, and forensic video analysis. Corruption / Rule of Law

From the top article below:

"It's not, I think, that the central figures in this drama—Comey and Clapper, Page and Strzok, Brennan, McCabe, Rice, and Obama himself—it's not as if they said: "Let's mount a coup d'état against Donald Trump." No, it was less straightforward and more discreditable. They said to themselves, 'Donald Trump is impossible. The people made a mistake. We know better. Let's mobilize the police and intelligence power of the state to make sure that virtue—that is, our political agenda—prevails.'  That way lies tyranny, which is always more palatable when swaddled in the conviction of its own virtue."

National Sovereignty / Border Security / Illegal Alien Invasion

From the top article below:

"The ENTIRE Trump border wall filmed for the first time!  Not just a few peeks, but ALL the construction underway from San Diego, Calif to Brownsville, Texas.  Now the largest construction project in the USA, it may be the largest in the world when measuring by total production per year.  97% of what you will see is my own filming content.  Just one guy 10 days on the road with some drones and a pickup truck.  The purpose of doing so was to show the immensity of this undertaking, the pride that comes when watching American ingenuity in its full glory, and the utter lack of imagination and truth telling displayed by our media.   More deviously, it is my wish that the open border advocates that watch this video now understand that illegal immigration is dead, and shall be replaced by glorious legal immigration like my relatives that passed through Ellis Island in 1808."

Socialism / Creeping Socialism

From the top article below:

"It is quite apparent by now that even if the most horrific scenario as described above does not unfold, we have already sealed our fate with respect to a disaster of monumental proportions that runs the gamut from increased drug and alcohol addiction, increased domestic violence, suicide, and avoidance of medical care, among other concerns. Tragically, the things that put human beings at risk for many of these dire outcomes are the very things that are being thrust upon us: unemployment and isolation. At the same time, one of the most powerful forces that serves as a protective factor offering comfort and hope has been denied us, as Americans have been barred from attending church."
"According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, officials at the Justice Department and a group of state attorneys general are focused on Google's ad business and how it has used its search monopoly. Attacks Against Conservatives

From the top article below:

"When I accepted an administrative position at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, friends warned me that I would not fit in as a conservative. I dismissed their concerns as hyperbole, an instance of believing universities are more politicized than they actually are. After eight long months, however, I had to admit that they were right. The political atmosphere in the college bureaucracy does not tolerate political disagreement and is overwhelmingly left-leaning."
