Robert– Tea Party Patriots had the opportunity this week to attend President Trump's Social Media Summit at the White House. Kevin Mooneyhan of Tea Party Patriots Action was invited to a special private meeting prior to the summit, as well as the summit itself. At the summit, President Trump addressed the bias of big tech companies that affects individual conservatives and conservative organizations. "Big tech must not silence the voice of the American people," President Trump said during the summit. Watch his full remarks here! We are so thankful that are we are able to represent your voice at the White House!
This week, President Trump decided not to challenge the Supreme Court on its ruling on the Census citizenship question from two weeks ago. While he was originally going to announce executive action to add the question, the administration is looking to other ways. Attorney General Bill Barr said that the amount of time it would take to litigate the injunctions topping the Trump administration from adding the question would delay the census, which is something the administration is not willing to do. The Census is essential for the government to determine how and where resources and spending are allocated, as well as for purposes of representation in Congress. Knowing the number or citizens and non-citizens is essential to a working government. President Trump has every right to press the issue! His new plan will use data already available to the various federal agencies to identify citizens and non-citizens living in the country. President Trump, like you, thinks its absurd that asking this question on the Census has become a controversial issue. The administration believes their new route will identify about 90% of the people living in the country.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held a hearing this week on Obamacare to discuss putting the final nail in its coffin. The court, while it hasn't made a ruling yet, plans to rule on its constitutionality. After Congress in 2017 repealed the controversial individual mandate, there have been several states that have challenged the law's constitutionality. Requiring Americans to purchase health insurance is an overreach of congressional authority, period. Furthermore, there was no clause in the repeal legislation to preserve portions of the Affordable Care Act apart from the individual mandate. This means the law now fails to meet even the fabricated opinion laid out by Chief Justice John Roberts in his debacle of a decision in 2012. It's time to scrap Obamacare entirely and insist lawmakers come up with free market solutions to our health-insurance woes—solutions that don't trample on our Constitution!
You know what drives us crazy? The Pledge of Allegiance is under attack! There have always been challenges against the Pledge of the Allegiance, but one Minnesota city's council went as far as to ban it. St. Louis Park City Council banned the pledge at the start of meetings and Americans in the area rightfully protested the decision. The mayor has even declared the pledge be restored at the beginning of meetings. The decision was characterized as an effort to serve a more "diverse community," as though the "diverse communities" of the United States are not served by pledging to support the ideals our flag represents. A nation without a flag, a history, a patriotic pledge, and a unified people is not a nation at all! The Left would rather tear down tradition and divide the nation than bring people together, "one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Another story that drives us crazy is the Left using taxpayer dollars to promote their political agenda. The American Library Association's annual conference this year featured more than a hundred workshops promoting Leftist "resistance" material and other outrageous material like "Creating Queer-Inclusive Elementary School Library Programming." They are also apparently working to remove books and materials from libraries that use the words "illegal immigrant," as well as protesting against the processing facilities at the border - as though this is what taxpayer-funded libraries should be doing with their time and our money! The ALA has taken it upon itself to indoctrinate people, and specifically children, to the Left—with your money. The Left has taken over so many institutions, and now that includes libraries. Maybe it's time to turn our attention to our local institutions and take them back. Who could forget the televised "trial" of then-Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh? It was a deja vu moment for all who remember the controversy surrounding Justice Clarence Thomas' nomination process.... President Trump and his administration have tirelessly worked on adding a citizenship question to the upcoming decennial census. Other than collecting for the purposes of Voting Rights Act enforcement, Democratic lawmakers claim that President Trump has an ulterior motive for it.... Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says Obamacare as it now stands—gutted of the requirement that Americans purchase health insurance or pay a penalty—is unconstitutional because its individual mandate no longer raises tax revenue.... Conservatives, including Jenny Beth Martin, sent President Trump an open letter this week urging him to stand up to Emir of Qatar for violating our Open Skies agreement. Breitbart has the details: "For years, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates violated their commitments under the Open Skies agreements by subsidizing their airlines...
