Good Morning, Pennsylvania |

Today we celebrate George Washington's birthday, a holiday that has morphed into Presidents Day and a time to recognize another guy a lot of people respect, President Abraham Lincoln. Washington, of course, was our country's first president, starting in 1789. Lincoln, who was in office during the Civil War and assassinated after it, was the 16th. Because it's a federal holiday, schools, government offices, banks and the post office are among the places closed today. Of course, we're also electing another president this year. Incumbent Joe Biden, president No. 46, is almost certainly the Democratic candidate. Former President Donald Trump is looking like the Republican candidate, but primaries are still taking place. Pennsylvania's primary election is April 23. Ballots will include plenty of other names, including state Legislature candidates and U.S. House and Senate hopefuls. One way to mark the day after Presidents Day is to register to vote. |
