Our next big fight in Congress

Congress and the White House are working together to hurt millions of Americans with a bad budget and tax plan. Let's fight back.

Robert --

Stop me if you've heard this before: Congressional leaders and the White House are working together on bad legislation that would hurt tens of millions of Americans.

This time, it's through a dangerous proposed budget and tax plan -- and while we don't know exactly what the final products will look like, this much is clear:
  • They want to give huge tax breaks to millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations at the expense of families who need help.
  • They want to clear out spending to pay for those tax breaks by cutting essential programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security - Disability insurance.
  • Separately, they want to roll back expansions of overtime protections that ensure fair pay for a day's work, and lift the wages of millions of middle-class Americans.
None of these policies has support from the majority of Americans, and it's up to us to speak out.

They're going to do everything they can to pass these pieces of legislation -- but as we just saw in our health care fight, together we can make noise at the highest policy levels.

Here's what we'll do together over the next few months: stay involved, plug into local actions on the ground, listen to real people who will be affected by these policies, and hold the representatives who are rubber-stamping these bad policies responsible.

So if you think a middle-class family deserves more tax relief than a hedge fund CEO ... or that programs like Medicare must be protected ... or that we need to stand up to big banks ... or that we must ensure fair pay for a day's work ...

... we need you in this fight. Say you're ready:

I'm ready
