I ask for your Vote today!

Today is the Virginia Republican Primary, to vote please visit your normal polling location between 6am - 7pm.  Don't forget to bring your ID.

This election is about who you want to hire to be the next Governor of Va. I am the only candidate who has the experience to lead the Commonwealth.

  • I am the ONLY Republican candidate who is a veteran.  I am a US Naval Academy grad and I served as a hard-hat diving officer. 
  • I am the ONLY candidate who owned a Virginia business.  I have worn a hard hat almost my entire life and understand the foundation of what makes Virginia run day in and day out.
  • I've started and opened multiple businesses employing hundreds of Virginians.
  • I have 25 years experience as a state legislator. I know the reality of what's going on here in Virginia and what will work best for the people of our Commonwealth.  I get things done in the State Capitol.  
  • I have a pro-business, pro-manufacturing, pro-technical education legislative record. 
If you want to know what someone will do, look first to what they have done before. In Virginia's Senate, I am proud to have led the fight against the Obamacare mandate in Virginia. I have maintained an A rating with the NRA, stood up against illegal immigration, defended life, supported law enforcement, strengthened ethics in public service, and worked to address our education and transportation needs.

One of my proudest accomplishments was defending Virginia from Obama's Clean Power Plan.  We won that fight and preserved the lowest rates on the East Coast.  

Truthfully, the Democrats are licking their chops at the thoughts of Ed Gillespie becoming the Republican nominee.  They beat him before and they'll do it again.  I know how to win elections. I am 10 - 0 in general elections getting elected in a swing district.  I am the only candidate that can bring this victory home this November.

#5Actions for This Week!

Urgent action needed on healthcare, more.

Dear Rob,

Happy Monday! We have some emergency actions for you this week, including a special one to demand transparency from the Republicans in the U.S. Senate on what’s they’re actually proposing with healthcare. The clock is ticking. Rumor is that they may try to pass a very bad policy, without letting anyone see it, in the next couple of weeks. WEEKS! So we need you to reach out to them via the link below ASAP.

There are 4 other important actions too. Be a wonder woman superhero this week by joining us to take action on paid leave, hunger, and more. You don't even need a cape or magical wristbands! Every time you take action, speak out, and raise your voice, we're reminding leaders that we are POWERFUL! (That’s better than a magical wristband any day!)

1. Tell Senator Mitch McConnell: Be Transparent About the Senate Healthcare Bill!

BACKGROUND: As parents we know when there’s silence, there’s often some sort of trouble happening. And soon after—we hear that infamous crash!! Well, right now there’s a whole lot of silence happening behind closed doors in the U.S. Senate. The extremist Republican members of the U.S. Senate, led by Senator Mitch McConnell, are trying to pull a fast one on our nation’s families and our health care. Sign on now! Tell U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell TODAY telling him to be transparent about the Senate’s health care bill and hold public hearings!

 

2. Tell Congress to Appoint a Bipartisan, Independent, 9/11-Like Commission Now!

BACKGROUND: In his June 8 appearance in front of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, former FBI Director James Comey confirmed that Russia interfered in the 2016 general election, and described how Donald Trump tried to undermine the FBI’s investigation of that interference. We need an independent, bipartisan commission, created by congressional legislation, that has the mandate to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding the 2016 Presidential election, including any and all Russian interference, as well as to provide strategies to make sure we are protected from this type of disastrous situation in the future. The commission would also be the most likely agent to turn up the evidence needed for the House of Representatives to initiate impeachment proceedings.

4. Tell USDA Secretary Perdue: Moms say NO to cutting healthy school meals!

BACKGROUND: Healthy food for kids isn't a game. It isn’t a partisan or a political issue. It's the right thing to do. The healthy school meal standards have been successful, any way you slice it. Yet USDA Secretary Perdue has proposed rolling back or delaying important standards around sodium and whole grains. It just doesn't add up. Speak out to defend healthy kids and schools!

BACKGROUND: We were heartened that President Trump’s proposed budget recognized the need for paid family leave which is, indeed, an urgent priority. But the fact is that the administration’s approach is not only terribly flawed but also is coming at the same time as Trump is proposing massive cuts to the programs that lift families and our economy the most. In other words, name-checking this policy in Trump’s budget is a smokescreen for him pushing through many other bad policies that hurt families and our economy. Check out our powerful video about just how important paid family and medical leave really is to our families, our businesses and our economy! Endorsement for VA Governor Candidate

Dear Friend,

Next Tuesday, June 13th, Virginians will go to the polls to nominate candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor in what will be a most consequential election.

I will be voting for Jill Vogel in the race for Lieutenant Governor and would ask you to join me in supporting an accomplished, effective, and principled servant leader whose constitutional world view and focus on growing Virginia's economy makes her best qualified to help lead this great Commonwealth.

I firmly believe our best leaders are those who run towards the fight and lead others to stand for what is right. In coming to know Jill, I see in her that tenacity, that fighter's spirit and willingness to lead the charge. That is the same spirit which continues to guide my own fight for our Constitutional principles.

In 2010, as the Democrats moved to socialize our health care system under Obamacare, Jill wasted no time in fighting back. Before Obamacare had even been signed into law, Jill took charge and passed legislation declaring Obamacare's individual mandate to be illegal in Virginia. Her legislative leadership  set up Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli's court challenge against one of the most egregious attacks on our Constitution of the modern era.

When Barack Obama's IRS targeted the Tea Party and conservative groups for exercising their First Amendment rights, Jill again ran towards the fight. She helped lead a successful defense of citizen groups attacked by an overreaching federal government bent on silencing dissent against Obama's liberal agenda.

In Virginia's Senate, Jill has consistently defended our God-given right to keep and bear arms, earning her an A+ rating from the NRA as well as the endorsement of the VCDL-PAC. These achievements are not easily earned. They are awarded not for having an "acceptable" voting record. Jill earned the highest marks by carrying strong legislation to defend and advance our rights.

Though all three Republican candidates are pro-life, Jill stands alone in being the only one to introduce legislation defending unborn children against the cruelty of abortion. Again, Jill ran towards the fight, carrying legislation cracking down on unsafe clinics and protecting would-be mothers and their unborn children.

Jill Vogel believes that every citizen should be treated fairly and equally by our government, no matter what their background. That's why she is a champion for religious liberty which is under intense attack. She voted for HB 1324 to protect religious charities and schools from government discrimination for their beliefs about marriage. She will be a warrior for smaller government, less regulation and lower taxes.

While all three candidates oppose illegal immigration, Jill is the only one to introduce legislation and lead the charge to uphold the rule of law in Virginia. Her bills would have required our Governor to work with ICE to investigate and deport criminal illegal aliens, as well as prohibit those here illegally from receiving in-state tuition benefits at our colleges and universities.

However, the most fundamental test for my support of any candidate is not only whether the person is right on policy, but whether he or she has the integrity to earn my trust. I trust Jill Vogel. I cannot say that about any other candidate in the race for LG. She says what she means and means what she says, but she also thoughtful and listens to good counsel. She is precisely who Virginia needs at this time in our history.

Now is Virginia's time for choosing.

We must nominate bold conservatives who can unite our party, win in November, and immediately get to work cleaning up after four years of Governor Terry McAuliffe's failed liberal leadership and incessant attacks on our Constitution and foundational values.

We cannot afford to back down. We cannot afford to run from this fight.

The future of Virginia is at stake.

Next Tuesday, please join me in voting for Jill Vogel as our next Lieutenant Governor.
