Judicial System

Did Obama win the judicial wars?

Obama has appointed more women, blacks or Hispanics than any other president, more Asian-Americans than all previous presidents combined. In his second term, he's also pushed for professional diversity beyond the usual mix of state judges, prosecutors and corporate lawyers, putting more former public defenders on the appeals courts than all his predecessors combined. The Labor Department is pushing states to create their own paid family leave programs

As American women surged into the workforce -- female breadwinners now support about 40 percent of households -- companies started adding paid leave as a way to attract and retain talent. Fifty-eight percent of large U.S. firms offer some paid maternity leave, a 2014 Labor Department study found. But only 12 percent of all private sector workers receive paid family leave to care for a newborn or ailing relative, government data shows. Read full article...

Obama has done more to save energy than any other president

Overall, the administration's regulations are set to save Americans an estimated $ 540 billion in electric and other bill expenditures through the year 2030. Naturally, these changes also are projected to cut greenhouse gas emissions -- by about 210 million tons annually for the period. Read full article...

Study suggests Affordable Care Act is improving health

A study published Monday in JAMA Internal Medicine offers another way of looking at the issue. Low-income people in Arkansas and Kentucky, which expanded Medicaid insurance to everyone below a certain income threshold, appear to be healthier than their peers in Texas, which did not expand. Editorial: Fill Supreme Court vacancy: Our view

Congress failing to act isn't exactly breaking news. It's tied in knots on a range of issues, from the budget and trade to creating jobs and controlling guns. But flat-out ignoring a vacancy on the nation's highest court, which Senate Republicans have vowed to do while President Obama remains in office, is an abrogation of its constitutional duty. Purged

FreedomWorks

Robert,

I know you get a lot of emails from me warning you of the establishment’s plot to purge the Republican Party of conservatives. And you may have rolled your eyes when I said it, but it happened. Last week, we watched the establishment take their first conservative scalp – Rep. Tim Huelskamp. We have a chance this month to actually increase the ranks of the House Freedom Caucus.

Right now, State Senator Andy Biggs and Mary Thomas are in tough congressional primaries against two bought and paid for establishment hacks. Biggs would be an important hold, but Thomas is a great pick up opportunity to grow the number of House Freedom Caucus members. Robert, we can’t let them lose. Stand with us and pledge to support these brave conservatives right now.

Make no mistake about it, a conservative purge is happening. It’s real, and they’re spending millions to do it. I just hope more conservatives realize it before they destroy conservative State Senator Andy Biggs and Mary Thomas.

Robert, Mary Thomas has been endorsed by FreedomWorks PAC, Club for Growth, and the Senate Conservatives Fund. And Senator Andy Biggs has been endorsed by Senator Mike Lee, Rep. Matt Salmon, Governor Scott Walker, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio. But even with these critical endorsements they could lose. That’s why we need you to step up and fight for them. It’s why I’m asking you to pledge to support State Senator Andy Biggs and Mary Thomas today.

FreedomWorks PAC is doing everything we can to push these conservatives to victory. Electing principled conservatives like Mary Thomas and Andy Biggs is how we end Common Core and repeal ObamaCare. Robert, it’s the first step towards saving America! But we can’t do it alone. We’re up against these liberal DC insiders’ millions. And you know they won’t stop until they’ve defeated every true conservative candidate running. It’s up to you to stop their sinister plot. And we’re counting on you to help these conservatives win. So please, take 30 seconds and pledge to support these brave conservative today.

Adam Brandon

George Soros is at it again

FreedomWorks

Robert,

I’m not going to sugarcoat this… It’s the worst news I could’ve gotten.

George Soros recently announced that he’s spending $25 million to help Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats win back the House of Representatives.

And if they succeed, you know what that means? Bigger government, higher taxes, and less freedom. Don’t believe me? The last time Nancy Pelosi was speaker she passed ObamaCare, TARP, a failed trillion dollar stimulus package, and Common Core. And if she regains the speaker’s gavel, you know she’ll force more of her radical, liberal agenda on America. Robert, don’t let that happen. Pledge to stop Nancy Pelosi today.

Robert, we can’t let Soros get away with this. We can’t let Nancy Pelosi become the next Speaker of the House. But FreedomWorks PAC can’t stop them ourselves. WE NEED YOUR HELP! That’s why I’m asking you to pledge to stop Nancy Pelosi right now.

For Freedom,

Adam Brandon
