Now, I'm not saying we're going to lose. But I learned a long time ago that you better run scared if you want to win.
Already this year, we've won elections in places Donald Trump swept in 2016. We've recruited good candidates up and down the ballot. I'd rather be in our shoes than theirs.
But we have to stay motivated; we better run scared. We won't win if we don't -- and here are three things we know will happen:
As sure as I'm sending you this note, Republicans will try again to repeal Obamacare. It's never been about health care for them, but about undoing a huge accomplishment of President Obama's. They can't help themselves.
They'll keep cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy -- and squeeze middle-class Americans who're just trying to save up enough cash to send their kid to college.
And you'd better believe they'll come for Medicare, Social Security, and any other program that gives the working class a leg up.
Folks say it all the time, but in the last 18 months, we've really seen it come to life: Elections have consequences. We lost big in 2016, and we can't afford to lose again.
