My girlfriend had just been called by her employer: Primary Home Care (635 North Center Road, Saginaw, MI 48638-5854; Ph#s: 989-793-6674 & 989-793-6824) and was blatently lied to by them saying that it is a "Federal Mandated"(?) to work below 30 hours a week implying to stay with them part-time by cutting her weekly hours by 9! From 36 to 27 hours. 'Nothing' was mentioned about their doing this because they 'do not want to pay' for Insurance through ObamaCare's Affordable HealthCare Act.
ReplyDeleteYes, 40 was always considered full-time and anything under that was considered part-time so it stands to reason that 30 hours is considered full-time now? I would think not, but that is what this employer is leading their employees to believe! This is simply wrong! Just because they do not want to offer affordable insurance?
If anyone deserves health insurance, it is my girlfriend. She herself worked in elderly retirement communities and homes for 24 years as home-care specialist. How can these employers get away with this?
Not only she cannot get affordable health insurance through the Obamacare's Act, but she lost 9 precious a week work hours (roughly $290 a month!) that is well needed to go towards bills! What is this country coming to?!
