I am not going to send a million fundraising emails, but this one for the DNC is important.

A strong Democratic Party has never been so important

That is the donation I am asking you to make to the Democratic National Committee before their first official FEC fundraising deadline since Trump and the new Congress took office comes to a close.

Otherwise, let me expand on why this request is so important.

We raised a historic amount of donations from regular folks chipping in a few bucks when they could. It is both humbling and heartbreaking because we did not get the result we both wanted.

But there were a number of important races we did help win because of the organization we built and the voters we turned out. There are Democratic Senators who may not have been elected, and Republicans only have the slimmest of House majorities because of our work.

That means we have a chance to stop bad legislation in the next two years and flip those chambers in the next election — and a strong Democratic National Committee will be at the front of that effort.

So $5. That's the donation I am asking you to make to the DNC before their midnight deadline:

$5 to protect the Affordable Care Act, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

$5 to help Democrats win the next round of elections.

$5 before this FEC deadline ends at midnight — because it will take all of us staying in this fight to get it done.
