NEC Concall TUE 3/1/2016 @ 12 PM ET | LA Senator David Vitter - "Will the Senate Judiciary Withstand Executive Pressure to Hold Hearings on SCOTUS Nominees"

Louisiana Sen. David Vitter, Tue. February 16, 2016, 12:00 PM ET
Conference Number:  (712) 432-0900
Passcode: 199176#
Patriotic Americans are praying that the eleven Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have the courage and tenacity to ride out the next eleven months of faux appeals to higher principle by members of the Mainstream Media and Senate Democrats intent on replacing Justice Antonin Scalia with a judicial activist.
For the last seven years, Americans have watched Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans repeatedly cow to Barack Obama's pernicious assault on the Constitution, by funding Obamacare, unconstitutional executive amnesty, and settlement of Syrian "refugees" in the United States, surrendering the Constitution's Treaty Provision pursuant to the Iranian nuclear agreement, and confirming two of his radical Supreme Court appointees. In response to the latest, and arguably most serious threat to the Constitution, Barack Obama seems intent on appointing a third justice to the High Court to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia. If Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan are any indication of the the President's fealty to the Constitution, confirmation of his third appointee would its death knell.

Join our National Emergency Coalition conference call on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time when we will be joined by Louisiana Senator David Vitter, a member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary who will try to allay our concerns over the vacant seat on the Supreme Court left by Justice Scalia, and the Senate Judiciary's commitment to keeping it vacant until a new President is inaugurated in January 2016.
About Senator David Vitter
U.S. Senator David Vitter is a bold, conservative reformer who is working to solve the most significant problems facing our state and our nation with Louisiana common sense

Senator Vitter believes that the federal government is too big, too bloated, and too involved in Louisianians' daily lives, and he's focused on taking practical, mainstream steps to cut spending, reduce the deficit, and put government back in its proper role.

He is a champion for Louisiana jobs that depend on oil and gas drilling, the leader of a Congressional coalition to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration, and an outspoken fighter for reforming the Army Corps of Engineers to ensure better hurricane and flood protection.

Senator Vitter has fought against Washington bureaucracies that place themselves between patients and their doctors, and against government agencies that destroy jobs by piling burdensome regulations on small businesses. He believes that Washington needs the same common-sense approach that is found around Louisiana kitchen tables.

Senator Vitter was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1999. He was elected to his first term in the Senate in 2004, and overwhelmingly re-elected in 2010.

David and his wife, Wendy, have four children and live in Metairie.

What we owe Trump today

Bookmark this page for Grassfire's Super Tuesday coverage.
Noon and 6p (EST) live audio briefings; primary results as they happen, and more.

Robert Bruce,

Today, millions of Americans go to the polls for what could be the tipping point of the GOP presidential race.

Today, I go to the polls as well.

So today, as a citizen, I want to let you know where I stand. Specifically, I want to address what we, as patriotic, Constitution-loving Americans, owe Donald Trump today.

Because we actually owe him a great debt.

Due in large part to Donald Trump, the grassroots effort that began with tea parties in the streets of America a few years ago has grown and morphed into a massive movement that has the potential of shifting our nation. Trump has personified and embodied an underground current of discontent with the Establishment -- a distrust of government that spans party lines.

So here's what we owe Donald Trump today....

We owe Donald Trump our thanks for giving a voice to a massive Outsider movement, slaying the dragon of political correctness, elevating the importance of several core issues, and taking down the "chosen" Establishment candidates.

My just-published book called REVOLT! explains in detail the impact Trump has had in creating space for this Outsider movement. I'm convinced that, if it weren't for Trump, Super Tuesday would be about winnowing the field down to the chosen Establishment candidate(s). Today, sans Trump, Jeb's millions would most likely be muscling out any and all contenders for his rightful throne.

So we owe Donald Trump our thanks. Mr. Trump, take a bow.

But here's what we do not owe Mr. Trump...

We do not owe Donald Trump our votes.

If you're like me and millions of patriotic conservatives in our land, you've been struggling with two sentiments. You know from the facts that Trump is not a conservative. After all, he has more consistently supported Democratic candidates over his lifetime than Republicans. Until very recently, Trump was far to the Left of distrusted GOP RINOs like Mitt Romney on core issues of immigration, abortion, and healthcare, to name a few.

And let's be honest about Mr. Trump's deportment. He's a hard-driving, verbal killer -- a brash and at times vulgar candidate who has turned this campaign into a reality TV show.

Yet something inside of you has been telling you that Trump just feels right. Finally, someone with the internal fortitude to stand up to the bully of Big Government!

And you're right. We've been maligned by the Left and betrayed by the GOP Establishment. Trump just feels like the right guy to stick it to the system! But let's be honest and acknowledge that Trump is not, nor has he ever been, a limited government conservative.

So here's my advice: understand what you owe Donald Trump today. You owe him your thanks. But not your vote. Be thankful for Trump because his candidacy and his impact on this presidential race has done something truly amazing...

Trump has created real space and a real opportunity for a real conservative to win.

And who is that candidate?

Ted Cruz.

Rush Limbaugh called Cruz "the closest living thing to Ronald Reagan we're ever going to have in our lifetimes. I don't know what more I can say about Ted Cruz."

Cruz's record and his rhetoric back up Rush's statement. Perhaps most importantly, Ted Cruz is the best qualified among the three GOP leaders to actually nominate to the Supreme Court originalists who will interpret and not re-write the Constitution.

So, yes, we owe a great debt of thanks to Donald Trump. He is the first public figure to represent on a truly national platform the growing grassroots Anti-Establishment movement which may well be the last, best hope for our nation.

So, today, as you go to the polls, give a hearty "thanks" to Donald Trump. But vote for the strongest conservative in the field: Ted Cruz.
