Ed Moser will speak briefly during the lunch. He will also have a book signing. 1. Thomas Kurek He has designed, implemented, or managed 18 enterprise information systems, including four for MYnstrel Inc., a corporation that he founded and built from the ground up. His other technologies were commissioned by the State Department, global hospitality and tourism, ecommerce, healthcare, state government, FBI, and the Department of Defense. As a biomechanics researcher, he produced prototypes for (1) improving the material properties of bioprosthetic heart valves, and (2) sports medicine (compensatory mechanism diagnostics and correction). He holds a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics (ESM) with a concentration in Biomechanics. Thomas' presentation: A 21st Century Cultural Amendment "A historical perspective and empirical evidence is needed in any question of social evolution and the elements of culture. The fundamental inquiry is into the shaping of human experience. Thomas has devised a multidisciplinary framework to explore that inquiry. Many deep issues in our civilization will come to light in this framework, and the audience will receive profound enlightenment regarding their own life experience and social observations." 2. Steven Yeh: He is a strategic management consultant and senior economic adviser who has advised for leading global consultancies and to global business interests. As a consultant and adviser, his guidance draws from a diverse background in finance, marketing and international business, integrated with psychology and sociology which provides a solid basis to business decision making, particularly in the current public policy environment driven by government spending, fiscal finance, and deficit/debt management. He is a graduate of The George Washington University and The George Mason University. Steve's presentation: Financial Collapse - Fact or Fiction? Our national debt is the single most pressing national security issue facing this nation. This seminar and a proactive discussion will explore the "What and What if's" of our world with a realistic view on what is headed our way and what may be ways necessary to weather the coming financial collapse and storm. 3. Ed Moser He will entertain us with humor from his newest book during a portion of the buffet lunch. Ed is a former speechwriter for President George H.W. Bush and joke writer for Jay Leno's 'Tonight Show'. He is the author of eight books including a history book called 'America A to Z'. His most recent book is 'Founding Fathers: What Jefferson, Franklin, and Abigail Adams Saw in Modern D.C. Ed will speak about the current issues of the day like government run healthcare, the IRS scandal, immigration, and what our founding fathers would see and say, if they were alive today. Here's a chance to strike back - and it's easy. The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is soliciting public comments on whether it should revise its ethics code. YES IT SHOULD, because SPJ removed the rule against opinion and bias in news stories from its code some years ago. Things have gone downhill ever since. Rep. Tomorrow is yet another day for Congress to decide whether they are going to stand with the American people or whether they are going to live above the law that they forced onto the American people. Will they live under Obamacare - the law they passed against the will of the American people - or do they claim the exemption granted unilaterally by President Obama?
Politico is reporting that members of Congress have the option of deeming their employees as "official" or not "official" to determine whether or not they are forced to enter the exchanges.1 Rep. Darrell Issa says he can just deem all of his staff as not "official" to avoid his staff from being forced to live under the law like anyone else. However, even those that will be forced into the exchanges can still receive a taxpayer subsidy that section 1512 of the "Affordable Care Act" outlaws for other Americans enrolled in the exchanges.2
All Senators and Representatives must decide tomorrow, by 5PM eastern. This is just another case of the ruling elite creating loop-holes for themselves so that they can live above the laws that they force on the American people. We have repeatedly said Obamacare must be repealed and we stand by that. Sure, we can make phone calls to urge them not to create special exemptions for themselves and to instead move to repeal, defund, or delay the entire law, but will they listen? Most of them likely won't.
This is why it is important for us to now turn our focus on what we can do that will have a meaningful impact on reining in the elitism and corruption in DC.
Over the next several months and as we move into the 2014 cycle, Tea Party Patriots will have several volunteer opportunities that will build up to having a meaningful impact. These activities include everything from going door to door to engaging in our cause online. We are calling this team the "Rapid Response Team" and we want to know how you would like to be a part of this team. This team of activists is going to lay the ground work for saving our country.
