Sellout! Republicans lose debt ceiling debate… but Mitch McConnell got $2 billion for KY
Needless to say, a lot of people aren't thrilled with the "deal" the Republicans in Congress agreed to. Basically, the Senate debt ceiling plan that was later approved by the House, kicks the can down the road and does not give the GOP a victory on much of anything… Except, of course, for the $2 billion Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) secured for his home state. See Glenn's reaction to Sen. McConnell's "Kentucky Kickback" HERE

Pursuit of the Truth, Episode 6: Who will make the final 3?
Well, it's time for the contestants to show the judges what they're made of… On Wednesday night, the sixth episode of Pursuit of the Truth featured the contestants heading back to TheBlaze's NYC studios to present their two-minute sizzle reels to the judges, who held nothing back in their critiques. Yale researcher realizes the TEA Party is a lot smarter than he thought
Dan Kahn, a professor of law at Yale Law School, recently released data on the relationship between "science comprehension" and political outlooks. And, much to Kahn's surprise, the data found a strong correlation between science comprehension and self-identified TEA Party members. See the full analysis HERE.

18 senators voted against debt ceiling deal… Who are they?
The Senate approved a debt ceiling deal last night by an 81-18 margin, with the 18 "no" votes coming exclusively from Republicans. Not surprisingly, names like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Pat Toomey are on the list. But interestingly, the 18 "no's" also included Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL). Why the sudden switch to fiscal conservatism? Glenn explains the votes on radio today. WATCH

"The Forgotten Man" sounds off on the debt ceiling deal
Glenn has talked a lot about the idea of a "forgotten man" lately. The Forgotten Man is the millions of Americans who just want to be decent to one another, to use common sense, and to stay out of the games being played in Washington. Today, the Forgotten Man can be found in the 49 states that didn't get a $2 billion kickback from the debt ceiling compromise. Glenn read an email he received from one Forgotten Man on radio this morning. MORE

Sen. John McCain questions Rep. Louie Gohmert's intelligence
On radio this morning, Glenn played some remarkable audio from Senator John McCain (R-AZ) talking about his Republican colleague Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX). Speaking on NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams last night, Sen. McCain was asked if the Senate had lost its sense of decorum, with Williams citing a comment Rep. Gohmert made linking Sen. McCain to Al Qaeda. How did Sen. McCain respond? WATCH

Could Glenn convince Ann Coulter to recant her support of Sen. Mitch McConnell?
When Ann Coulter joined Glenn on Monday's radio program, she issued a pretty strong defense of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and his actions as of late. But considering his state just received a $2 billion kickback from the debt ceiling compromise, has Ann changed her opinion? See her and Glenn square off on radio this morning HERE.

Rep. Trey Gowdy grills NPS director over treatment of veterans during gov't shutdown
Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) made headlines yesterday after he grilled National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis at a House hearing concerning the closure of national parks and monuments during the partial government shutdown. Rep. Gowdy ripped Jarivs for treating "pot-smoking" demonstrators in the Occupy Wall Street movement with more respect than the nation's war veterans. Get the whole story and Glenn's reaction HERE.
