He doesn't care

Robert --

Do not expect Terry McAuliffe to respect the rule of law after today's Supreme Court decision.

After the Court ruled that government cannot force employers to disobey their conscience and pay for birth control, our fight with the governor just gained strength.

But make no mistake, McAuliffe's extremist assault on Virginia's taxpayers is just getting started.

He wants taxpayers to pay for an expansion of Obamacare in Virginia -- that includes forcing you and me to pay for other peoples' abortions -- even after the Assembly told him, no way!

We count on him to claim to the media that women support abortion and taxpayer-funded birth control that causes abortions.

We also expect the media to play along.

That's why The Family Foundation has a plan to stop him in his tracks.

We plan to recruit more and more Christians from Virginia's 5,500 churches to speak out.

I hope you will read my message below and immediately sponsor our urgent plan to protect life and our rights.

For Families and For Virginia,

Victoria

Robert --

Virginia’s governor and his secular allies are furious with the citizens of Virginia.

They’re angry because voters elected a General Assembly who rejected the governor’s scheme to expand taxpayer-funded healthcare.

The Governor declared to the media that, one way or another, he will find a trick to pass his progressive agenda without approval from the voters!

This is an extremist agenda that forces taxpayers to pay for abortions.

Friend, nearly 250 years ago, a king thought he also didn't need approval from citizens to pass new laws.

We know the rest of the story.

But what some may not realize, the heart of this rebellion was the pastors who spoke like thunder from the pulpits. They organized the colonists to protect their God-given freedom.

We need pastors to speak like thunder, once again, to unite pro-family Virginians to secure a pro-family majority!

I know you agree, Robert. But I need to share something with you that might come as a surprise.

Church leaders believe all their church members vote on election day. But we've run the numbers and this is, unfortunately, not true.

Right now, races are so close across Virginia, that we need every Christian to vote.

Take a look at these figures from the last election where pro-family candidates lost to secular progressives:

Senate Seat: lost by 11 votes
House Seat: lost by 223 votes
House Seat: lost by 1,038 votes
Governor: lost by only 2.5 percent
Attorney General: lost by less than 1,000 votes out of 2.2 million!

Plain and simple, if more Christians had voted on election day, we wouldn't have to deal with a governor who will subvert the rule of law to pass his secular agenda.

But we have a plan to change that.

Right now, my team is organizing training for pastors across Virginia, with your financial sponsorship, so they can be sure every one of their church members is registered to vote and actually votes on election day.

Will you sponsor our campaign to train pastors how to organize their congregations on election day with a contribution of $50 or more?

Across the Commonwealth, there are 5,500 churches. Over the summer, we will identify which churches need to be trained to keep King McAuliffe's agenda out of Virginia!

But with storerooms filled with outside cash, progressives are building an infrastructure for the next election to defeat us, once and for all.

As you surely know, our own governor is raising money to defeat us -- after all, we are the biggest obstacle to his anti-Christian agenda.

And Hillary Clinton, Obama, and Howard Dean are flooding Virginia with millions of dollars to snatch Virginia from its pro-family roots!

This is why it's urgent that we train pastors to organize their congregations to vote their values on election day!

Friend, time is running short. We cannot wait until election day to train pastors. The secular left has already started training their activists on the ground. We MUST do the same.

Will you immediately support our campaign to halt McAuliffe's radical agenda?

Will you financially commit to secure a pro-family Virginia by clicking and following this link to contribute $50, $100, $250, $500, or even $1,000 right now?

Tell King McAuliffe and his extremist friends that their anti-family values aren’t welcome in Virginia.

For Families and For Virginia,

Victoria Cobb
President

SCOTUS Explained

Today the Supreme Court hasset us back once again with two more disconcerting decisions.  In Burwell v. Hobby Lobby, the Court ruled 5-4 ruled that the government cannot require a corporation to provide its employees with insurance that covers birth control if doing so goes against the owners’ religious beliefs.  As Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote in her dissent, this decision "would allow corporations to opt out of almost any law that they find "incompatible with their sincerely held religious beliefs" regardless of the sincere religious beliefs of the employees.

In another 5-4 ruling, Harris v. Quinn, the Court ruled to eliminate agency fee requirements for Illinois home healthcare workers.  What does that mean?  Illinois is one of 26 states that require public-sector workers to pay dues to unions that negotiate their contracts and represent them in grievances, even if the employee is not a member of that union.  To pose the issue another way, it addressed whether non-union members should reap the benefits of organized labor (wages, benefits and protections negotiated through collective bargaining), without having to pay towards those benefits. (Employees can always get a refund on dues money that pays for political action with which they disagree.) The Court sided with the free-loaders, claiming they are only semi-public employees.

It’s no coincidence that the Koch and Walton families backed the plaintiffs. This is just another of their tactics to silence and shackle workers.

Wednesday Campaign Wrap-Up to Cover Delaware Endorsements

There are reported to be some surprises in the list of political endorsements due to be released by Delaware ADA tomorrow. Because the Diamond State is so heavily Democratic, most of the key decisions will be made in the Democratic September primary. But because there are still some outposts of Republican strength in the more rural southern part of the state, the endorsements will also include general election contests. More endorsements are coming all summer long in a rolling process; read about the first batch this week in the Wednesday Campaign Wrap-Up.

Hobby Lobby Decision

FreedomWorks

Robert,

Today the Supreme Court ruled against ObamaCare and produced a narrow win for freedom. While the ruling in favor of individual liberty wasn't as broad as many had hoped for, the 5-4 decision in the historic Hobby Lobby case does chip away at the government’s authority to impose regulations on private businesses.

As the Court's decision makes headlines around the country, it’s important to realize how our judicial system influences our lives in very real ways. The judicial branch is just as important as the executive and legislative branches, and yet very few Americans pay attention to how it operates.

FreedomWorks wants to change that. That’s why we just launched our Judicial Reform Project to shine light on the shadows of our Court System.

Judicial Reform

We break down how the Federal Circuit system is structured, and how each circuit leans politically. Did you know that the 5th Circuit is the most-pro freedom in the country, and that the 9th Circuit is the most pro-government?

There is so much to learn, and you can find out all about it at our Judicial Reform site.

The Hobby Lobby decision is a perfect example of the impact the American court system has on our lives. It’s important that we, as citizens, take the time to learn about this important branch of our government.

In Liberty,

Adam Brandon
Executive Vice President, FreedomWorks
